just notes

Shuggy came over to visit and kept trying to get Kinsley to say "shuggy." Kins got out "boogie" and my mom was about to settle for that, when all of the sudden she said it! Her "s's" aren't perfect but as close as she could get.

She loves to hide. She could play peek-a-boo all day. She loves putting things on her head or covering her face and then saying "boo." Recently, she has started hiding things too. So far we have found the spatula, spoon, and her juice in the laundry basket; an empty yogurt container in the toaster oven; and perfectly good things in the office wastebasket.

14 months

We have been on the road for over a week now. We are in Ohio for my college roommate, Sam and her fiancé mark's wedding. We drove straight to Ohio, leaving at 6pm and arriving at 3:30am. Good news was kins slept the whole way... Bad news was we didn't get but about 1 hr of sleep that night. Luckily she took a three hr nap and we were able to nap too-- even if it was just a little bit. I am sooo looking forward to sleeping tonight!

Kinsley is walking a little by herself but soon to take off like a pro.

She has 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom.

She is starting to mimic what we do or say.

She "winks" at you.

She has added the lion and cat sounds to her repertoire.

She wants to use silverware and drink from a cup though we aid her in doing them.

She still sleeps 7-7 for the most part. Naps are either 9:30-10:30, 3-4 or 1 long one 11-2ish.

She has moved to size 4 diapers.

She wears 12-18m clothes depending on brand.

Check out the pics my sis took over on her blog!

Beach vaca continues

On Monday, the in-laws were back and we packed up the beach stuff and walked to the beach! I've really enjoyed walking instead of driving the golf cart everywhere this time.

Kinsley loved collecting shells and jumping the waves.

We played our new obsession, monopoly deal, while kins napped.

Later, Grammy and I took kinsley on a walk to the park. Poppy and hubby met us up there later. Two little boys were up there that were 6 and 3 years old. They wanted to play with kinsley so bad. They were just like gray and zac when they were little. Kinsley loves little kids but they don't always realize that she's still a baby.

We had Mawmaw and pawpaw porter over for a low country boil? I think that's what it's called... Kins and I ate turkey burgers instead.

We introduced the in-laws to monopoly deal.

Tuesday, Gray and the other guys golfed. After they got back, we went shopping in pawleys island and at some thrift stores. Kins got something at every store just about. She got a monkey, a new nightlight, and the most adorable blue and white romper from grammy. Then we went out for lunch where kins entertained us with eating lemons. She loved our reaction so much she still made faces without even putting the lemon to her lips ha!

Wednesday was our last beach day.
Kins got some new sunglasses and we painted our toes.

Thursday kins woke up super early-at 5am! Gray got up with her but i couldnt fall back asleep. We packed up and left early for home sweet home.. Only for a couple hours until we were leaving for Ohio.

Beach Vaca

On Saturday, Grammy and poppy has to head to florida so we went over to see Mawmaw and pawpaw porter before kinsleys nap time. She took about an hour nap and then we headed to the beach. Kinsley spent most of her time collecting sea shells for Grammy. We just took 2 chairs and the beach bag and just set up down in the water. We stayed about an hr and a half with our little beach bum then headed back to go grocery shopping and take showers.

We went to Mawmaw and pawpaws house for dinner. Kinsley made us all laugh telling us it was time to go when she grabbed her diaper bag over her shoulder, headed to the door and said "bye bye" over and over. She was so tired and almost fell asleep on the golf cart ride home.

After kins went to sleep, uncle zac came in town and we learned a new game called monopoly deal.

Sunday we went for a jog then took kins down to the beach in the jogging stroller and walked on the beach for a while.

kinsley-13months highlights

Kinsley just had her first beach trip with a friend! Miss Bryleigh came along with her parents to the Porter beach house. So fun! The girls did great! Kinsley got her tan on and her hair is getting super blonde.

Kinsley is so interested in trying out silverware. I got her a plastic fork and spoon set but she's still wanting to use mine. I saw a kid's metal set so maybe i'll try those?

I love when she tried to say "juice" or "cheese" or "keys"... it is so cute. I think that is my fav.

When I'm working... which is completely difficult when she's not sleeping... i've come up with a few things to give me 10mins of uninterrupted time (occasionally) ..

option 1: DIAPER BAG.... 10 mins or sometimes less to go through everything in there..and sometimes brings me a bag of crackers or something else to open

option 2: WALLET... I currently have a couple cards missing and I am hoping they are in the playroom/office somewhere. But this definitely keeps her occupied for a few minutes

option 3: EVERY TOY SHE OWNS... I set out every bin of toys in a circle around her. sometimes I get longer than 10 mins... sometimes 20mins... sometimes not so much depending on her mood.

option 4: BABY EINSTEINS.... the dvd player is hooked up to the other tv... I really need to get another one for the playroom/fireplace room... she loves this movie (thanks madeline!)... this can buy a little more time... but I have to be in the room with her for maximum results lol

This weekend dada was out of town with his family to a wedding in Indiana (too far of a drive for the babe and i to make it). It was tough cuz kins was a little fussy (teething). Naps were off and this momma was going CA-RAZY! Sunday, we had a mini family reunion with my dad's side of the fam... in 100 degree weather outside at the park. Kins did good despite the heat- I was proud of her! She took a liking to my uncle's wife, Kitty. She is tiny and so sweet, I can imagine why.

She was keeping herself busy in her room... normally by messing with the humidifier, her baby floor bouncer, and cd player.. so i went to fold some clothes in my room. I came back to check on her and she was riding her play horse towards the door. This was a big thing for her. She couldn't get on it by herself before, and now she had gotten on it and learned to walk with it to move... and she was a-movin! Is it bad to admit that i teared up?? My baby girl is growing every day and it's so hard to come to terms that she'll never be a baby again... am i the only emotional momma out there??

I think i'm going to try to post more with less content ha.. i always try to have pics ready before i post, but then i forget all the words I was going to write. Here's to high hopes! ha
