Maclaren's 11 weeks

I can't believe another week has gone by! Maclaren smiles and coos more than ever and is quite flirty. She has giggled a little too--similar to kinsley's "laugh" / noise when she was little.

She is getting more on a routine of feeding so we have made it out a good bit the past two weeks. She eats about 9, 12:30, 2:30, 5, 7:15, and once before bed. Give or take 30mins or so.

Nights were good for a while, sleeping 5-7hrs but the past couple nights she wakes up once (around 4 am), then 6am she becomes restless and by the time she goes back to sleep, kins wakes up.

We went to the mall and the library this week. And cheesecake factory for my dad's bday. M slept the whole time.

She only poops every other day or so-- which is up from her every 3 days schedule before. She's not constipated or acting like she hurts so they said it's fine and I'm not complaining ha!

My "line" is finally disappearing on my tummy.
Weight: 118 (down 26lbs, 9 more to go!)
Started jan 1- no sweets, except on saturday.. eating healthy, protein shakes (lean 1) for lunch, pilates class on friday at iron butterfly.

Homemaker

Right now my eyes are about to shut as I am exhausted but I still have things to do! Story of my life! ha!

We decided that it would be best for me not to return to teaching so I could spend more time at home with my babies... now I am full-time photog and mama. I love scheduling things and having control of when I can do them. I can edit during naps, schedule shoots when my hubby or mom can watch the girls and have something that I LOVE doing as a little "me" time.

I heard once that if both people work, then the household chores should be divided. Whether you believe that or not, it worked for us at least. It helps that my husband is an OCD cleaner too. Now that I am home, I have tried to use my time more wisely.

For the first little while after Maclaren was born, I sat on the couch and did a lot with one hand. My husband took Kinsley and helped with whatever he could while I bonded with my little wee one. Now that we are in the swing of things with the holidays over and him back on the road, I have been better about toggling between the girls and chores. Kins loves to help clean (or at least her version of cleaning).

Our schedule is never precise but every morning, Kins comes in to our bed and we turn on cartoons for her. Then after Charlie and Lola, I get somewhat ready, change the girls, and put clothes on them just in case we decide to go somewhere.

I am motivated by coffee and live with Kelly. After I get breakfast for kins, and a bagel with cream cheese for myself, I sit at my computer and do some work while I watch my show. After that it's all about being suzy homemaker haha.

The other day I was painting the kitchen cabinets (nothing drastic) but yet something that has been on my agenda to tidy up the house. Kins was doing watercolors on the floor, M was asleep in the carrier, dinner was cooking in the oven and the laundry was going. WOW. I felt so good.

We had lunch, put kins down for nap between 2:15-2:30. Finish painting, do some editing, clean up paint, and then wake kins up at 5.

It's hurting my eyes looking at this really long post lol so I will just say that sometimes i'm on my game and sometimes I'm not. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed or like a failure. Days can feel so long, but these moments are so short. I love a the little things that take place during 1 day.

Some of my faves are:

*Watching kinsley nurse her babies.
*Maclaren's smiles and coos.
*The  few times Kinsley (all by herself) goes to the bathroom, shuts the door, pulls her pants down, takes her diaper off, sits on her pot and calls me when she's done.
*Kinsley asking if it is okay if she reads books in her bed before she goes to sleep
*Kinsley's prayers (especially for baby Brody)
*Maclaren ALWAYS waking up with a smile no matter how she's woken up
