January updates

Toys spilled out all over the room, puffs sitting in a pile on her walker, diaper bag in the seat next to me... little things that remind me, long after she's gone to bed, that an adorable little girl lives here and she is mine.

I can't even begin to describe how much I love her! She learned to clap yesterday. She also loves to eat... wood, construction paper, and plastic... these are the things I have had to pry out of her mouth. I did not even realize how many things were on the floor until I see her crawling (almost) over to a speck and start grabbing at it with her hand. Sweeping and Vacuuming are becoming daily tasks.

I love watching her scoop up a whole hand of puffs, shoving them to her mouth, and managing to at least get one in.. sometimes two.

This week mommy started teaching two additional classes (Christian Growth 1 and Christian growth 2). I am so excited about these classes, but it is an adjustment being away from Kins 4 days now instead of 2. It is still just 2 hours, though. I KNOW this is God's heart for me. I have been praying for YEARS for a job in the ministry and FINALLY it has been answered. I know it is all HIS doing, because I am SO not qualified to be a teacher. I am so thankful for my students and I am so excited to see what God is going to do! He has made a way and I know He is going to do great things!

I met two women at the playground a week or two ago who had 2 year old girls. One put a note in my mailbox asking about getting together for a playdate... it was so thoughtful and kind! I'm excited about this "making-new-friends-because-we-both-have-kids" kinda thing :)

8 Months!

I cannot believe Kinsley is 8 months! Time is flying! I think I say that every month haha. But really,
everyday is something new. I love how aware she is and everything is so thrilling to her. Something as simple as a leaf at the back door gets her oooooing and ahhhing trying to get to it and pick it up. She loves playing with ALL her toys and things that are not meant to be toys (makeup, jewelry, magazines, etc).

She is probably about 20 lbs or so. She still fits in size 3 diapers. She can fit in some 6 month clothes but I just go ahead and buy 6-12 months or 9 months even though we have to roll up the sleeves. I'm pretty excited that clothes are starting to last longer. Tot Trade is coming up soon and I'm excited to see what good deals I can get, though I love buying the "new" stuff on sale better because it fits better and has less ware.

She goes to town in her car. She can even manage to get through a door way occasionally.

She LOVES puffs. Right now she has only had the organic banana flavor. Foxy still can't distinguish the difference between her and the baby. Now that food is involved, Foxy thinks anything Kinsley gets she should get, too.

She now sits in her highchair to eat and loves it!

She is much better at her sippy cup... She has learned to tip it all the way up to get the watered down apple juice. Though, she mainly chews on the rubber spout. I think she is teething even though i don't see anything.

Dear Kinsley,
Mommy loves you more than I could ever imagine! Your new nickname is "Beauty." I love those big blue eyes and pudgy hands. I miss you when I put you down for bed at night. We have been having so much fun playing and I'm already thinking of ideas for your first birthday. You scout around like and inch worm and roll around. You say ba-ba-bababa, and I'm hoping to hear mama and dada soon! Daddy and I go back and forth with "No, I love her the most." I love you the most but shhhh don't tell daddy :)

Love,
Mommy

TUTUrial- DIY baby tutu

I found a yard or two of pink tulle in my craft box and thought hmmm I should try to see if I can make use of that for a tutu. I you-tubed a diy video, tweaked somethings, and tried it out. Here's the video:

I used a yd or 2 of tulle and a stretchy headband that sell for cheap at hobby lobby. The headbands I make normally have detachable bows, so I had lots of these in my craft drawer as well.

I started cutting my tulle into strips since i did not have the "kit" they mention in the tutorial.

I got almost done and realized I was not going to have enough tulle. Luckily, I had a spool of white tulle I had bought 1/2 price at hobby lobby for about $2. I use it for various other crafts, but it was PERFECT for this tutu.

When I make another tutu, I will definitely plan on buying the spool, as it was MUCH easier to just fold and cut and not have to worry about the edges being perfectly straight. It went really fast once I switched to using that.

It took about 30 minutes at the most and my end result was this:

And of course I had to try it out on my little princess as SOON as she woke up from her nap!

I'm thinking about having a DIY tutu making party... perfect for moms, grandmas, friends, etc that want to quit paying $40+ for a tutu. Just bring $5 and all the supplies will be provided... what do y'all think? Leave a comment or message me on the idea!

Firsts, Funnies, and Adorable Moments

Kinsley Binsley as we like to call her, has learned to wave, scoot, do this inch worm type crawl, and she now eats organic puffs. So far, she really makes an effort towards post it notes on the floor, mommy's coupons and shoes.

She is doing something new almost everyday! I can't get enough of her! I love this age. She may possibly be cutting a tooth soon... though she mainly puts her fingers in the back of her mouth to chomp on them. I know molars don't ever come in first, but she sure makes us think that they are. I've been giving her teethers from the fridge and today I gave her organic puffs to chomp on. We played chase all over the downstairs in her walker car. She ran as fast as she could while mommy chased her. Occasionally, she would get to going so fast to run straight into the dishwasher or doorway. She was squealing with laughs. Foxy likes to play too. Foxy also likes puffs.

It was funny... Kins put an "O" puff to her mouth and it got stuck to her lip. She looked at her hands and down at her lap to find it... finally she put her hand back on her mouth and it magically appeared haha. She probably ate like 20 of those things!

Daddy went out of town this week and brought home two surprises from H&M for his girls. We I was so charmed :) He also surprised us at my mom's house right when he got in town. THEN, the next night, I ran out for a little "me" time, and when I got home Kinsley had been fed, bathed, and in her jammies all ready for mommy to nurse her then tuck her in. Hubby gets major props!

I'm carrying my camera around religiously trying to catch all the firsts, funnies, and just plain adorable.

Dr. Visit

Yesterday Kins went to the Dr to get her second dose of the flu shot (oops almost made a MAJOR typing error there haha!) and we checked on a rash she's had on her back for a couple weeks...

Come to find out she's got eczema :( We got some new bath wash and lotion to try out and a prescription just in case that doesn't help.

She did GREAT on her two shots and since we went ahead and got her third Hep shot, she won't have to get ANY shots at her 9month appt! Phew!

We also found out she weighs 19lbs now! haha She's still just being breastfed and about 1/2 a little jar of baby food before bed!

I can't believe we are going through these months so fast! Her 1 year is approaching so quickly and i'm already started to think about party planning! haha

Some Mobile Uploads

So I've had my iphone for a little over a month and i already have like 200 photos on it! I know some of you are not the least bit shocked--she IS the baby of a photographer haha. So, I've decided to make an entire post of photos/videos coming from my phone-- that is, as soon as they finish this long uploading process :)
